How YOU can help save a life this Family Day Weekend

Sounds like a pretty bold statement, doesn’t it?

The good news is… it is absolutely true.

On Sunday, Feb. 17 and Monday, Feb. 18, hundreds of people will be heading to Yonge-Dundas Square for Canada’s largest urban polar bear dip. Part of the national series of polar bear dips which raises money for SickKids and pediatric cancer research initiatives, the Sears Great Canadian Chill will also be bringing a complete winter family festival to the heart of the city.

As a parent, the most important thing we could ever hope for is the health of our children physically, mentally and emotionally. We care for them, love them and nurture them in hopes that they will have the opportunity to make their every wish come true. The incredible work being done at SickKids gives this gift to thousands of the bravest kids you have ever met, ringing true to the words “Anything You Want” sung in their new “Together We Will” campaign (Warning: This will leave you teary-eyed).

Besides the plunge in a custom-built Chill pool (there will even be hot-tubs to warm you right up), look out for plenty of activities on Monday for the whole family including face painting, family photos, live entertainment, contests, and even a fastest snowball competition for the kid in all of us!

Pre-registration for the Chill also includes free breakfast and a pass to take part in all of the above activities for one family registration fee of $40 (family of up to 5 people). You can sign up online at www.theChill.ca and learn more about how to join the fight to Stop Kids Cancer Cold!

On February 17th and 18th, by celebrating Family Day together at the Sears Great Canadian Chill, you’re giving Canadian families the support to keep fighting for what we all want: a healthy, happy family.
